First Time Skating

Our first trip to the roller skating rink included some fun, laughter, a few tears, and frustration. Learning to skate is hard and trying to help two kids who don't know what they are doing is full of challenges.

A Relay - and a break from skates...Aidan looks pretty serious doesn't he?

Limbo time

In the end I would say we will try again, but we might drag dad along with us next time.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Andrew!

It is hard for me to believe that my Andrew is 3. He is the baby and I may just always think of him like that! We had a great time at the Brookshire's park celebrating him with lots of sweet friends around. Get ready for lots of pictures.
Andrew and his very best friend!

These two have such a sweet friendship. They can talk and play for hours without getting tired of each other. Andrew loves him so much he made Rebecca add him to a family picture she drew the other day.

Andrew, you have an amazing ability to make us all laugh! We love you more and more all the time! Happy 3rd Birthday! Hope you have a great year! It is a gift to watch you grow up.

End of the Year Fun!

To celebrate the end of the school year I took Rebecca to build-a-bear. It was a lot of fun (mostly because I got her all to myself and that doesn't happen all that often). She picked out this bunny and one outfit. It really is a cute little store.

After that we went out for ice cream! I loved our girlie time and look forward to much more time with my sweet girl!

Aidan also earned a special end of the year fun day, but his was with dad and dad doesn't usually travel with a camera. They enjoyed a great time at Fire Mountain playing with go-carts, bumper cars, and some games.

Rebecca's 5th Birthday

Rebecca turned 5 in April. We celebrated by having a few friends join us for painting at Piddlin Pottery and then come over for cake and some jewelry making. We had a great time! Here are some pictures.

The girls and their painting

The Cake. Rebecca gave me know more guidance than a pink theme. So I set off to find a cute cake that I could make and that would look right pink. This is what we settled on. Pink sunglasses and pink flower cupcakes.

Rebecca learned how to read this year so we wanted to get her a grown up bible. She is so sweet and actually reads it. She has just about finished reading the 10 plagues (totally on her own initiative). Kind of a strange place to start studying your bible. Maybe she will have a good, healthy fear of our Lord.

And her Pink Razor

Rebecca, you are growing and maturing all the time. I love the girl you are becoming. You add a lot of fun and joy to our home! Thanks for being you! I praise the Lord for letting me be your mommy.

The Olympics and A New Bike Star

Since I am not a scrapbooker, I try to kind of keep up with our lives through the good ole blog. I have been terrible at this so I am going to try to catch up a bit on our last 6 months of life. These next few posts can all be labeled catch up posts(mostly composed of pictures) and hopefully will not bore you to death.

First up is our Greek day that we did with some sweet friends after finishing up a study on ancient Greece

We wore the Greek garb:

Had some Olympic races

Ate some Greek style snacks, pizza, and grapes with our Olive branches on our heads

Made a Greek Warriors' shield for the boys

And a weaving loom for the girls

Another big accomplishment this Spring was little Miss Rebecca learning how to ride her bike like a pro!

And She is off...

One of the many fans of our bike star this day So proud and we are too! Becca is really growing up all the time. Such a joy!
